~ Proclaiming the coronation of God as King of the Universe
Blessed are You, Adonai our God, Ruler of the Universe,
who has sanctified us by Your mitzvot and commanded us
to hear the voice of the shofar.
~ Awakening our minds from a state of sleepiness
~ Reminding us of the shofar heard at Mount Sinai, when we accepted
God's Law in the first five books of the Hebrew Bible considered as a unit.
~ Appealing to God with a simple, primal cry from the depth of the human soul
~ The sound of the shofar is based on the sound of a cry.
~ Sounding the call of the shofar that will be heard with the coming of Messiah,
who will redeem us, God willing, soon...
