Shofar Sound and Videos

Some of the meanings and ideas to focus on while

paying attention to the blowing of the Shofar are:

Proclaiming the coronation of God as King of the Universe.

Awakening our minds from a state of sleepiness…

Reminding us of the shofar heard at Mount Sinai, when we accepted God’s Law in the first five books of the Hebrew Bible considered as a unit. Read: Exodus 19: 17 – 21

The sound of the shofar is based on the sound of a cry.

Appealing to God with a simple, primal cry from the depth of the human soul.

The shofar sound also indicates a call for repentance.

The shofar blown on Rosh Hashanah reminds us of God’s salvation in our own lives.

During a Christian gathering a shofar blast indicates a time of rejoicing and praise to the Lord.

The Shofar Sounds:

TEKIAH: Long single blasts, (the sound of the Kings coronation).

SHEVARIM: Three short wall like blasts (signifying repentance).

TERUAH: Nine staccato blasts of alarm (to awaken the soul).

TEKIAH HA-GADOL: A great long blast (for as long as you can), as well as, (announces the presence of God).

In reference to the TEKIAH HA-GADOL, the last trump, symbolizes the hope of redemption.  The sounding call of the shofar that will be heard with the coming of Messiah, who will redeem us. May you be ready to hear the heavenly shofar that will call you into His glorious presence. A joyful sound for the believers in Christ Jesus, and dreadful sound for the enemies of Christ Jesus.

Biblical Association between Salvation and Prayer:

The Biblical foundation of salvation is based on faith in Jesus and trusting in Him alone. Heartfelt prayer to the Lord acts together with trust alone in the saving act of Jesus.

John 3:16 (NKJV) says; “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.

Salvation is gained by faith as Ephesians 2: 8 – 9 (NKJV) says; 9For by grace you have been saved through faith and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.

Romans 10: 9 -10 (NKJV) says; 9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Romans 10: 12 -13 (NKJV) says; 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. 13 For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

Heartfelt Prayer: Lord, forgive my sins and save me. Help me to break old habits and follow Your will. I believe in Jesus and ask Him to be my Lord and Savior. Cleanse me with your blood and fill me with your Holy Spirit. I pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.

When you receive Jesus as Lord and Savior, give thanks, and offer praise to God for His love, sacrifice, and free gift of salvation. Faithfully read the bible daily, as well as pray, forming a relationship with the Lord. Find a Bible-believing church to fellowship with others and learn how to live righteously in Christ Jesus by obeying God’s Word.
